The Weekly Oracle - The Sunstone - You are not lost, you have the tools you need

I have decided to move the Rune/Oracle of the week to a Monday, the day most of us around the world start our work week. Today, the Oracle card for the week is not a rune, but an item. The Sunstone / Solarsteinn was used by the early vikings to help navigate their way on voyages, even through the mist, and low light days. The almost never setting sun in the northern regions could sometimes be lost on the horizon, or be obscured. The Sunstone was a way, before compasses, to always tell where the sun was, and hence help them navigate. A way to reveal the true position of the hidden sun, even on low contrast days or stormy...

Rune Oracle of the Week - Jera - Reward for Right Action

Sorry for missing last week. Printing the new Learn the Rune Cards and the Diviner Set was a very busy task. (hint - if you haven't ordered your pack yet, don't waste anymore time) But I am back this week with the Mid-week, Rune of the Week Oracle. And today, Jera makes an appearance. Jera reminds us about the Rewards for Right Action. Jera, Pronounced (yare-awe) and means Year, Good Harvest. It reminds us that we should always be planting, even when times are tough, as winter always comes, and the harvest we take at the end of the good times is our abundance for winter, and our seed for the new spring. The lessons we get from this may...

Rune Oracle of the Week - Gebo - Harmony, Balance and Fair exchange

Gebo, the rune of fair exchange, balance and harmony. Sometimes we may feel weary and tired, and just wish for a little reprieve from the daily grind and stresses. And perhaps just need a little break to get things moving foward in a positive directions. Well Gebo may just well be that little break. Gebo, is the GIFT. So when we see Gebo in our rune draw it most certainly brings the element of giving to our fore. But we are also on the receiving end of that blessing.  As we move beyond the mid winter period here in the Southern Hemisphere, Gebo would remind us that at this time that harmony in the family and work environment is paramount....

Oracle of the week Ehwaz - Get in step (Rhythm), and get your A%%^ moving....

Ehwaz, the rune of the horse. More specifically two horses in harness, working together. Anyone getting a feeling that the moon and stars are playing at their influence game pretty strongly lately. Well today I was drawing the card, and out comes Ehwaz. Not quite feeling the card, I took another pack and shuffled again. Out comes Mani, the moon card. Which speaks of time, and how precious it is. Thinking I really need to stick with what I was led with the first draw, I thought perhaps there is a common theme here. And low and behold, Time, more importantly the urgency in time. Mani is a card which represents the male god of the moon. The old norse...

Oracle of the week - Frithgeard - Finding a place of refuge, offer gratitude

Wednesday morning, and time to look around at the energies, and where to focus our energies for the next 7 days. This week the oracle card is Frithgeard. So a little background on what the viking tribes called a Frithgeard. The Frithgeard was a place dedicated to the gods and was sacred to nature spirits like elves as well. It was normally located in a place near trees, springs, stones and other natural spots that were considered to be receptacles of great magickal power. These were the places the community went to worship. Unlike other sacred spaces restricted to certain rank, the Frithgeard was available to all, even oath-breakers. Guidelines were set assuring no hunting, harvesting or cultivating in these...
